The HTML component gives site creators the ability to insert small snippets of code onto a page. Use cases would include embedding code from a third-party social media site, such as Facebook or Twitter. The HTML can also be used to create unique features that are not possible using the other components. Finally, the HTML widget can be used to create custom styles for a site or for a page. These changes must affect only the content area of the page an must be consistent with the brand.
Ensemble is very strict on the way HTML is written and parsed. You'll often see a warning that Ensemble has changed the HTML that was entered. Usually these changes are slight and generally the massaged HTML will work as expected.
The HTML component is intended to embed code snippets only. It should be used sparingly and not as a substitute for the iFrame or Media - External components, both of which support embeds.
After placing the component on the page, open its properties by clicking on the configure (wrench) icon. From here, you can adjust the settings of the component.
